Howdy! It’s Beck from Mom Beach and I hope you are enjoying the content I have provided you thus far. I’m still in the growing phase of this blog but have big dreams as to what it will become. It combines my passion of digital marketing strategy and helping other moms achieve business success.
By peeking at the title, you may be asking “What on Earth is a digital marketing strategy?”
A digital marketing strategy is just a plan of action that I am going to be taking next year for this business. Maybe you will find it helpful for your own business venture.

What you do is set up various channels you plan to market in which are:
- Paid: advertisements mostly
- Earned: your subscribers mostly, which I don’t have at the moment
- Owned: your content, social media accounts and products
To give you a background on myself, I have done digital marketing, SEO and UX (user experience) for Fortune 500 companies such as Verizon and Tenant Health for the past 17 years. I have tried and tested various methods for digital marketing and have seen the success first hand.
Enough about me, let’s get to the strategy I have designed for Mom Beach!
Mom Beach’s 2019 Digital Marketing Strategy
We are a brand new business and blog but our goals are high. I’d like to get at least 10,000 page views a month and 1,000 newsletter subscribers by 2020. If I get 100 subscribers, I will invest in ConvertKit.
My advertising and business expense budget is $50 a month, which is my “fun money” that I have budgeted each month for my husband and I.
We will revisit in 1 year from now with another post so you can see what happened. ^.^;
Is that too high for a brand-spankin’ new blog? Am I crazy here? That’s ok! Aim for the stars always.
What I am going to do to achieve that goal is through various channels.
Channel #1: Owned Media – Social Media

I started a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and You Tube channel for Mom Beach a few days ago. There isn’t much grow on them yet but they are still days old.
What I plan on doing is:
- Reposting content on my social media sites, especially Pinterest
- Filming videos with my iPhone for You Tube
- Posting videos on my social media sites because videos get more attention
- Getting involved in my niche’s Facebook groups.
- Start doing stories on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat
Channel #2: Paid – Advertisements
Remember some of that $600 ($50 a month) I spoke about above? This is where it comes in handy.
Do you not have any advertising money? I suggest you use SurveyJunkie to generate more income. I do surveys in my spare time and got $50 in a couple hours a few times on there. I will have a guide on other ways I have made money easily online in the coming future.
This will include:
- Google AdSense
- Facebook Ads. I am targeting them heavily with videos I will create on my iPhone and edit in Adobe Premier
- YouTube and Instagram Influencers with 1,000 or less followers. Why? They will be cheaper.
Channel #3: Owned – Content
I have broken this up into sub-channels for my content’s optimization in Google and beyond.
SubChannel A: Voice-Optimized Content

Are you wondering what I mean by “voice-optimized”? You know Siri, right? By 2020, more people will be using their voices to search the internet
I have seen job postings for voice experience designers quite regularly and am taking a certification course on user experience that includes voice.
The way I type for Mom Beach is the way I speak in person. I will try not to use any acronyms like WTFOMGBBQBYOB! ^o^
I will spell them out next to it in parenthesis unless the acronym is usually spoken, such as SEO. I suggest you do the same for your blog or website if you wish it to be voice-optimized for SEO.
SubChannel B: Helpful and Engaging Content
I will provide digital media strategies that have proven successful for me and guinea pig methods I am testing. Since 1998, I have been interested in the internet and what makes certain pages rank high, while others don’t. My content is for an actual person, not for a Google bot so I will write accordingly.
SubChannel C: Google SEO Content
- Use Google Trends to see what keywords and long-tailed keywords are ranking high for the topic I wish to write about
- Search those keywords and look at the top 4 ranking articles for that keyword
- Improve upon that article with more knowledge, images, keywords, voice-optimization, etc.
- Rinse and repeat
Channel #4: Earned – Online Forums
I’m a member of several entrepreneurial forums. I been investing time in the community there for quite some time. It is great to get involved in online forums, even though they are rather outdated due to Facebook overtaking them. I have found several friends and great resources within. I suggest you search in Google for an online forum in your niche right now.
Channel #5: Owned – Digital and Tangible Products
I plan to create and distribute digital products as an incentive for subscribing to my newsletter. This entails helpful ebooks, courses, guides, etc. that provide meaning to my customers. I’d like to have T-shirts and mugs made with the Mom Beach butterfly logo to sell.
Channel #6: Earned – Contests and Giveaways

Once Mom Beach has at least 100 followers on social media, I plan to start having contests and giveaways. These prizes will be either digital or tangible products that I had made.
Channel #7: Earned – Guest-blogging For Backlinks
I plan to guest blog on other sites in my niche and only asking for a link back in return. This will enable Mom Beach to build up backlinks to other sites with a higher ranking. In turn, Mom Beach’s ranking may go up in Google if it has enough links.
Guest-blogging also enables you to build friendships with other bloggers and invest more in the blogging community.
I may add more channels as I think of them. If you are in need of a Digital Media Strategy or a website for your business, then I am available for hire at BeckBeach.com!
Let me know in the comments below what your channels are or if you have any questions.
Best of luck to you and your business,
Beck
