In today’s episode, I want to talk about tracking in your business. When you track everything in your business, you can get results because if you just go from week to week without tracking, you do not know how you are growing your business.

That is what I do every single week, I track my business, there are various things in my business, such as number of posts, videos, the products, the amount of subscribers, the amount of visitors or sessions to my blog, the amount of products and I actually made a tracking spreadsheet.

I want to share with you, if you go to www.mombeach.com/podcast, then you could see the tracking spreadsheet in the show notes. And it is in Google Sheets, you can make a copy to your Google Drive. And you can get a free Google account, you can use Google Sheets, and it is kind of like Excel, but you do not have to pay a monthly fee for it, or a yearly fee. You just do not pay anything. It is free and it is called Google Sheets. And then some spreadsheet uses Google Sheets. It is a really awesome spreadsheet, there is several different things you can track like all your social media, like TikTok or Twitter, your Facebook, followers, Instagram followers have YouTube subscribers, you can track your income from your affiliates to your products and then your income from like all kinds of things.

Also, you can track your expenses, like how much you are paying each week, because you might be paying too much money each week, and you do not really know about it. So, if you do not know how much you are spending each week, it is really dangerous for your business because you might go over, you might spend more than you make, it makes your business negative. So, it is really important to earn more than you are spending.

Because that is what I was doing. I was spending so much when I first started my business, I spent like $20,000 my first year, I was just spending so much money. I just kept buying all these courses like some courses were like $1,000 and I was spending so much money on these courses because I did not know anything when I first started blogging and starting a business, I knew nothing. So, I wanted to get all these courses to help my journey and some of them were trash spent so much money on this one course it end up being trashed. And one thing I learned in the course was to clap. When I made mistake in a video, seriously that was most important takeaway from the course was clapping when I made a mistake that way on when I see the track line, there is a big jump. So that means you made mistakes, you can edit it out. So, it was just such a waste of money on that course, and I have spent so much money on courses that we are a big giant waste.

So, you have to make sure you track your expenses, because that way you do not go over when you are trying to make a living. And also, I track my income each week, I see how much I am making from affiliates, for my products, like what I do for my ads, because I have ads on my blog, I am in Mediavine, it is an ad company. So, I track ads on my blog to see how much money I am making each week. And you could use your dashboard, I use Mediavine dashboard to see how much money I am making from my ads each week. And if you are depending on your ad network, maybe you have Monumetric or some other ad network, or maybe you are not internet ad network, it just shows you how much money you are making each week. And also I track money for my affiliates, because I am in lots of affiliate programs. So, I see how much money I am making for affiliates that are paying me each week because it is also good because what if an affiliate does not pay you? usually affiliates pay each week, so you got to make sure that your affiliates actually paying you because sometimes affiliates do not pay you and you are like working for free.

So, with tracking, that is another benefit is to know if your affiliates are paying you or not, but some Affiliates pay each monthly, it depends on their affiliate program. So, you got to reach out to your affiliates to see when their payment is. And also, you can track money from your products, you made a product, your product launch. Like this last launch, I did it for transformational printables I mentioned it in the previous podcast, and that course did 13,000 In sales, it was a really awesome launch. And that was just the launch and I intend to make more money from the course as time goes on, I am going to reach out to various other audiences like other affiliates and try to hit the course in front of their audience. That is how I am going to promote the course, or I can even run Facebook ads to course, but I am going to mostly do affiliate marketing with the course, reach out to different communities of people and get in front of their audiences.

So you just track what You’re making each week from your courses and your products and also you could track your printable sales, maybe you sell printables in your store, maybe you have an Etsy store or a Shopify store, you can track how much money you’re making for your printables each week, because if you don’t track you might not know how much money you’re making, you know, for your printables maybe you want to do something else, there’s something else you could do. Maybe if you make more products, you’ll make more money because on Etsy the more products you have in your store, usually the more money you’re going to make because I know that if you have over 100 products in Etsy that’s when you start getting visible in the search results faster. I just have 10 products and I get sales every once in a while, but I’m going to really try to get 100 products on my Etsy store this year to get bigger in the search results you know to get found.

Else you might want to track your email subscribers that is another big thing because you are not going to know how many subscribers, you are getting. Maybe you can try something else that maybe if you can try making more products to get more subscribers or making more freebies opt ins to get subscribers, I have five freebie opt ins on my blog, I got several. In that way people can get sign up to get the freebies and I am getting subscribers like every day and plus when they sign up to the freebie opt in, they are redirected to a sales page. And on that sales page, I can make a purchase I am getting a subscriber and a sale from the same person. so, it is really good to have a sales page after they sign up to the freebie so that is another good way to get more subscribers is to create more freebie opt ins and the way to make a freebie opt in is first you make a freebie like a printable.

If you can even start with a PLR printable private label rights or commercially used printable, and I sell commercially as printables at www.PLRbeach.com, you can actually purchase you know readymade digital products like commercial use printables. You can resell those products in your Etsy store, you can customize them, I have on PowerPoint templates, you can actually use them in PowerPoint, and some of them even have Canva templates www.canva.com is a free graphics program where you can actually make printables you can save them as a PDF and then sell them on Etsy or your other store either Shopify store or Etsy store. You could sell the printable on your store. You can also use the printable for a free opt in, when someone signs up to your email list, you can offer that as a freebie, that way they get an incentive because people are not going to sign up to your email list for nothing. So, I used to put sign up for tips and tricks when I first started blogging, and nobody signed up was not until I offered a free printable to people start signing up.

I first offered a workbook, it was a gold workbook and that was the first product ever offered for free. And then I got 100 subscribers within the first week and it just kept snowballing and a great way to get subscribers you can go to free Facebook printable groups, there’s these printable groups on Facebook, they’re called free printable so your search in Facebook group you search free printables then once you make your free opt in form, you put it on a blog post, you can post that opt in form in the group, and then people will sign up for the opt in in the group, they’ll get a subscriber you can even redirect the opt in to a sales page. So that way you will get a customer to from the same person if they decide to purchase that is a great way to get a subscriber for free just using a free Facebook group through the free printables Facebook groups.

It is a really great way to get free subscribers you can also get subscribers by posting the freebie and there is these all these promote yourself post if you ever join a group, a lot of times you join a blogging group, then you will have to promote yourself in those posts you can post your freebie. That way you can get subscribers and also customers if you have a sales page you redirect to like a great way to get a subscriber and also a customer to.

You can also link your freebie on your Instagram like I have an Instagram and I linked my freebie post to get a free planner on my Instagram. So that way when I appoint them to my Instagram profile on my post to get the free planner a lot of people will sign up from looking at my Instagram and I try to make a new Instagram post least once a week you know if I can, but I recommend trying to do every couple days because that way your Instagram will grow faster. And a way to grow your Instagram is you follow people in your niche, that is how I got over almost 12,000 people on my Instagram.

First, I follow people in my niche and my niche on Instagram is weight loss I started following weight loss influencers and then I follow their followers and their followers followed me. So, I started getting followers from people that I have followed because that way you get their attention because if you follow them And they will see you and they say, well, “I might want to follow this person because I’m interested in weight loss because I follow this other person that’s in weight loss. So why don’t I follow this person too”.

So, then you get followers from people that you are followed and that is the same way you can even grow your Twitter doing the same thing does another way you can start growing your social media is if you follow Twitter people on there, you get Twitter followers, by following people on Twitter, they are in your niche, you follow their followers, and the same thing can happen then.

On YouTube I would not help because it does not really tell you when somebody follows you on YouTube. It sends an email, but I never tried it that way but the only way to get subscribers on YouTube is post content, consistently, it is all about consistency. You do something every weekend, you even tell the subscriber that you are going to be posting every week, and then you follow through with it. You do not just to post and then maybe like a month later, you post again, because people are not going to follow you and subscribe to you that way. Because I have seen lots of people on YouTube, they will make like a piece of content, like every single month, and then they wonder why no one’s following them because they are posting every month and there is one person post every couple months, and then their followers like just 10,000 people because they used to post consistently but when they stopped posting consistently, they stopped getting as many subscribers.

So, I see them post less and less. And they just left YouTube altogether because they were not getting the progress they wanted. Like, they wanted 100,000 subscribers and they did not get that. So, they decided to quit YouTube because the reason is, they just were not consistent enough, because I am going to try to be really consistent with my YouTube and also my podcast and try to put out a new podcast once a week, at least because I am going to want to have consistent content.

Also I’m going to consistently post on my blog, because that’s why it’s good to track what you do each week too because you can track you can make a blog post each week that maybe that will help you get more subscribers, you might get more and more customers or subscribers from the blog post, if you have new content, because on Pinterest, if you put something new on Pinterest, it gets you a lot more traffic than posting the same old stuff all the time on Pinterest, if you’re pinning new content, because Pinterest favors new content. So, if you have like a new posts on your blog every single week, then you are going to get more traction on Pinterest.

So that’s what I’m going to be doing is trying to get like a new post on my blog every week, because before I was just posting once a month and that wasn’t really helping grow my Pinterest then I started posting every two weeks that wasn’t really helping as much, but it was like a lot better than just doing once a month but now I’m going to do once a week, that’s really going to help grow my Pinterest and I would ideally like to post on my blog once every couple days or once every two days like by daily like that will be even better to get as much content as I can but my blog now has over like 200 posts. So after 200 posts, you don’t have to post so much every week or so but I still like to post once a week to give Pinterest more content because it’s just really important because Pinterest favors new content new URLs on Pinterest and new pins and new images and new PIN descriptions and new titles like it favor new content more so than the old content because you used to going to Pinterest by pinning like the same old stuff every single day you would just do these old re-pins but now Pinterest is favoring content that’s new. So that is one way you can grow your Pinterest too because you can also get you know Pinterest followers if you post new content, but Pinterest followers does not do that much for you but still that they will look at your profile if they are following you. so that is a good thing about it.

So, you are going to really going to love the tracking spreadsheet that you are going to get. So again, go to www.mombeach.com/podcast to pick up the tracking spreadsheet. The way it works is on the side, it has everything to track and then you put in the current numbers like what you currently have in the current numbers column in the spreadsheet. The way you edit a spreadsheet is you click in the cell, you click in current numbers and then you put in the current numbers that you have for all the posts you have in the videos published each week and what you are currently doing each week and then you put your goals like what you want to accomplish for the quarter and have everything laid out for Q1 in the spreadsheet.

I know it is almost the end of January. So, you could easily go back and record what you had done before in previous weeks, or you can just start in the January 23 to 29th week that I have that is like the fourth week because I know this this tracking spreadsheet is kind of going towards the end of the month. We are almost in February, but you can also do previous months in the spreadsheet. You can also edit the spreadsheet for Q2, it is very editable. So, you can just edit the weeks you know for Q2, you can just use it for every single quarter even like Q3 and Q4 too just edit in the dates. It is a really handy spreadsheet to see your current numbers because you got to track your numbers every single week, because it really helps you growing your business that is the biggest thing that helps me grow my business, I am tracking every single week and now you can too with the help of my tracking spreadsheet.
